Back to the Tap
SIFE Acadia has partnered with Water Watch Acadia to end the sale and distribution of bottled water on Acadia University's campus. Bottled Water is both expensive for us as students and harmful to the environment. SIFE Acadia is planning to install 22 carbon-filtered water bottle refill stations across campus to increase access to tap water. Because it's carbon filtered it will take out the chlorine taste in Acadia's water supply. SIFE is very proud to announce that Acadia’s very own Ivan Curry School of Engineering will build SIFE the first prototype water refill station this semester as part of their course curriculum.

SMILE & Save - Financial Literacy Project
The goal of our financial literacy project is to help educate people in the community on the potential financial benefits of preparing a tax return that utilizes all deductions available to them. At SIFE Acadia we have chosen to pair with the Acadia SMILE program in order to increase the effectiveness of our message. SMILE is a program that provides and environment of play and fun that fosters fundamental motor development for children and youth with varying abilities levels and develops leadership skills for Acadia University students. SIFE Acadia plans to hold multiple seminars to help educate the parents of the children participating in SMILE on the benefits of preparing a proper tax return, the general deductions that they can use, and specific deductions available to parents raising disabled children. SIFE aims to impact approximately 100 families and hopes that this education will continue to help the families in future years.
